Effect of propylthiouracil with hyperthyroidism

Authors

Abstract

Background: There are few studies and reports on combined antithyroid drugs in the treatment of hyperthyroidism. Objective: To evaluate the influence of propylthiouracil together with bisoprolol on the levels of miR-206, IL-17, and 2-MG in hyperthyroid patients. Method: From January 2018 to June 2021, 80 individuals with hyperthyroidism were admitted to a hospital.  In the study, 80 participants are randomly assigned to control and test groups. The control group received propylthiooxide pyrimidine, whereas the test group received combination bisoprolol. Thyroid indicators, serum indicators, blood lipid metabolism indicators, therapeutic effects, and the incidence of adverse responses were examined and assessed in both groups. Results: Post therapy, the levels of TT3, TT4, and TPOAb in both groups were considerably lower than Prior treatment, whereas TSH was significantly increased (P < 0.05). The decline in TT3, TT4, and TPOAb levels were larger in the study group than in the control group, while the TSH level increased.
